2010 Virginia Annual Conference
The Virginia Annual Conference will be held from 13-16 June 2010 at the Scope Arena, Norfolk, VA.  Each year all clergy members and an equal number of lay members selected from the local churches attend their conference’s Annual Conference sessionmeet together to worship, fellowship, and conduct the business of the conference. During these sessions, members of the conference hear reports of past and ongoing work; adopt future goals, programs and budgets; ordain clergy members as deacons and elders; and elect delegates to Jurisdictional and General Conferences (every 4 years). Bishop Charlene P. Kammerer will preside over these meetings.

The team of Virginia Conference authors who have written the book Does Your Church Have a Prayer? The Reverends Marc Brown, Kathy Merry and John Briggs will lead Annual Conference Bible Study on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, and a plenary teaching session on Tuesday afternoon.  Their sessions will focus on leadership development through the theme “Leading By Following Jesus.”
