Envision a Miracle.

Miracle Sunday is coming on October 11, 2026. As part of a denomination-wide initiative led by the United Methodist Council of Bishops, congregations around the world are invited into a six-week journey of discipleship: Love Boldly, Serve Joyfully, and Lead Courageously.

From early September through October 11, Crooks Memorial UMC will participate in this shared emphasis through worship and small group study. Together, we will explore the heart of Christian discipleship: growing in faith, deepening our witness, and joining God’s mission in the world.

Two opportunities are available to engage this series:

The John Wesley Class Meeting will meet on Wednesdays beginning September 2 from 1:00–2:30 PM in the parlor. The first portion of each gathering will focus on the weekly discipleship theme, followed by the familiar Class Meeting format that has been meaningful to participants over the past two years.

The Adult/Teen Sunday School Class will begin the same series on Sunday, September 6 during its regular morning gathering time.

This six-week journey will lead us to Miracle Sunday on October 11, when United Methodist churches across the globe will receive a special offering to support theological education in Africa, Europe, and the Philippines. In many parts of the world, access to formal theological training is limited, yet God continues to call leaders to serve. Through this offering, we participate in equipping those leaders for faithful and transformative ministry.
